A Liberty State Park Proposal

This Liberty State Park proposal went just as planned! Nick asked Nicole to marry him at this epic amazing landscape view in Jersey City! Read all about the day and their story here!
.

How they met

According to Nick: “Nicole and I originally met during our senior year of college at the University of Rhode Island back in the spring of 2017. While we didn’t date immediately, there was that genuine connection that brought us back together a few months later during the summer. We officially started dating that September and the rest is history. We have now lived together for over a year with our golden retriever puppy named Gansett (after Narragansett, RI where we met).”
.
College is one of the best ways to meet people, that’s also where I met my husband too!
.

About their first date

Nick: “Debatable question haha. One may say that our first date was during the few months we were talking in college, but I could also argue it was when we got dinner and went to the Yankee game later in August.”
.
I can definitely relate, dating in college is great but to be honest I can’t pin point which one was the first! Being friends first is such a great way to connect!
.

What they love to do together

“Nicole and I both share a love for traveling. We have been fortunate enough to create incredible moments together all over the world, including in Greece, Costa Rica, Cape Cod and countless others. Aside from our annual fall trip to Cape Cod, we typically travel to new places and have a grocery list of cities/countries that we’re itching to see. Our big trip will most likely be next Spring to London and other areas in Western Europe. We also love our wine (mostly red) and always try to sneak a vineyard or two into every trip we take.”
.
Ahhh, I can’t wait to travel again that sounds so fun, I’m sure you’ll love Europe!
.

Why Nicole is so special to Nick

“During our first few months of dating, Nicole’s mom asked me to describe her in one word – Passionate. That word means as much today as it did almost 4 years ago to me. Whether it be our relationship, taking care of Gansett or moments with loved ones, I love the pure energy and divineness. Nicole motivates me to be a better person every day and continually break boundaries. She is the strength I never knew I needed and the foundation of our relationship. With her, I’ve become the best version of myself and continue to grow each and every day. I wouldn’t want to share my future with anyone else.”
.
That is tooo sweet!!
.

Why Nick choose this place to propose

“An initial thought I had was proposing during our trip to Cape Cod, but unfortunately it didn’t work out due to family events. Given this, I wanted to create a moment near and true to home while somehow sharing our appreciation for magnificent views. Throwing it all together, I believe that a proposal near the water, capturing the NYC skyline, would be perfect. Our families will be able to be present to share the experience and continue the celebration during a surprise yacht cruise where together we can enjoy endless NYC view and an amazing dinner, topped off with a sunset to end it.”
.
Nick was on top of it and wanted to make it so special for Nicole. We were able to capture beautiful views, see all the photos below!
.

That moment Nick knew Nicole was the one!

“In late fall of 2017, Nicole and I took our first trip to Cape Cod together. It was our first real experience traveling together and seeing new places. While only dating for a few months at that point, I knew there was a connection I’ve never felt before. Apparently it wasn’t only felt among ourselves as during our dining experience at the Lobster Pot, two elderly couples expressed the love they saw between Nicole and I to use. Shortly after they graciously surprised us by paying for our meal with a single message – pay it forward. There was also a moment during a perfect sunset on the beach, where Nicole and I were adventuring around, laughing away and skipping rocks together where I realized she was the one for me.”

Their Song

Yours by Russell Dickerson
.
I was a boat stuck in a bottle
That never got the chance to touch the sea
I came to life when I first kissed you
The best me has his arms around you
You make me better than I was before
Thank God I’m yours
The worst me is just a long gone memory
You put a new heartbeat inside of me
You make me better than I was before
Thank God I’m yours
Thank God I’m yours
Thank God I’m yours
