A Summer Bernardsville, New Jersey Elopement | The Bernards Inn
Shelly and Alex’s summer elopement at the Bernards Inn was so sweet and super touching!! They shared a small beautiful interfaith Jewish ceremony surrounded by their immediate family. From their first look to the Ketubah signing, you could see just how important family and tradition were to Shelly and Alex, which made every moment precious!
.
How they met
I love hearing the story of how couples meet and it was so great to hear the full story during their small intimate ceremony. Shelly and Alex met on OK Cupid in February 2013 and have been together ever since, which is now over 6 years! They met at a hip cocktail restaurant in San Francisco for a drink and hit it off immediately. Of course they ended up staying for another round and then dinner because things were going so well. The rest is history!
Shelly: I love that Alex is kind, witty and handsome!
Shelly and Alex also share so many interests in common. They love hiking, exploring San Francisco, watching movies, meeting our friends in the park and playing with their cats!
Alex: What drew me to Shelly, was her loving and sweet personality. Shelly is hardworking and determined but funny and a joy to be around! It’s truly no wonder, Alex choose Shelly to be his wife!!
How he proposed
Shelly: Alex proposed at Corona Heights in San Francisco on a foggy night after making Shelly dinner! It was very sweet. Alex picked out the yellow diamond and we designed the ring together!
Their Wedding Day
Shelly and Alex wanted their wedding to be intimate and about family, which the day truly was. They had such special details, including Shelly’s wedding band which was her mother’s and Alex’s wedding band which was his father’s. In addition to that, Shelly wore her grandmother’s watch, a family heirloom and Alex wore his father’s watch! (How amazing is that??) After the ceremony, they told the rest of their guests that it was an engagement lunch and surprised them by turning up married!!
.
Thank you so much Shelly and Alex for letting me be there for your wedding day! I am so happy that you are both looking forward to building a future together and buying a home! Congratulations and enjoy your honeymoon in Maui!!
