Pier A Hoboken Autumn Proposal
I had so much fun photographing this Pier A Hoboken autumn proposal! Meet Jaclyn and Nicholas who met when they were in middle school! Nicholas wanted to make the day extra special and had me capture this once in a lifetime moment. Read all about their story here.

How they met
“We met when we were both in middle school and had been very good friends for a number of years leading up to our relationship. We officially started dating junior year of High School and the rest is history. We have been dating for almost 11 years.”

I love it when couples meet early on, it’s so beautiful to see friendship grow into something more!

About their first date
Nicholas: “While not necessarily the first date, one of the first memorable moments was when Jaclyn drove down to my family shore house . I’ll never forget that we could not wait for that day and when the time finally came she got lost on her way down! When she finally made it, we spent all day together on jetski’s and on the water. Neither of us wanted that day to end.”

What they love to do together
“My family has a house down the shore and we love going there and she loves going to the beach. We LOVE to eat and often spend our time finding different places to try and enjoy together. I’ve never seen a margarita that Jaclyn would ever turn down. We enjoy going to New Jersey Devils games and concerts together. We most recently bought and renovated our first home together.”

Why Jaclyn is so special to Nicholas
“Jaclyn is my the most beautiful person in the entire world. She is the most caring person I know and puts everyone and everything before herself. She makes me the best version of myself and I could not picture my life without her.”

After meeting her, I can definitely agree with Nick, she is definitely super kind!

Why Nicholas choose this place to propose
“The backdrop and scenery is absolutely gorgeous and I believe it is something that she will cherish in these photographs forever. We often go to Hoboken and Jersey City to explore new places to eat and spend time together.”

Nicholas was right, it made for the perfect backdrop!

That moment Nicholas knew Jaclyn was special
“They say true love doesn’t happen right away, but I have loved her from the moment I saw her. Being able to grow and mature together as two young 16 year old kids and enjoy each moment of that time together is something truly special. I’ll never forget the one time we had a MASSIVE snow storm and I dragged my brother and friend on a hike across town in this blizzard just so I could see her and while it was FREEZING outside, it was worth every second.”

About the Proposal
Nicholas wanted to have that epic view of the NYC skyline and we were so grateful the weather was perfect! Despite having a little chill in the air, it was very sunny and a little hazy but that made for all these gorgeous photos. On the day of, I got there early and thankfully there weren’t many people around but of course right when Jaclyn and Nicholas walked down a bunch came. Jaclyn was super kind and even took some photos of other people on their phone. Thankfully Nicholas wasn’t nervous and kept his cool. He waited for the perfect moment to get down on his knee.
