A Central Park NYC Proposal
This scenic Central Park NYC proposal was one to remember! Anarid and Christopher met all the way back in the 7th grade in Florida and are now engaged! Read all about their story and about the day here.

How they met
Chris: “We met in the 7th grade when Anarid started in the same school as me. She and her family moved down from Arizona to South Florida (where we’ve lived most of our lives until our recent move to NYC) and her brother became friends with my sister. I met Anarid when she went with her parents to pick up her brother from one of my younger sister’s birthday parties.”

I love that Chris remembers exactly the first time he met Anarid, all the way back in the 7th grade!

About their first date
Chris: “Our official first date was at ColdStone’s (ice cream place). I was heading on a trip the next day but had such a burning desire to see her so I asked her if she wanted to go on a date before I left on the trip. We had ice cream together and kept texting afterwards.”

Chris couldn’t wait for his first date with Anarid, how sweet!

What they love to do together
“We LOVE to eat and experience new restaurants. We also love Speakeasies. In NYC, our favorite place so far is La Esquina which has the best of both worlds. We also love travel and experience new cities together. ”

Why Anarid is so special to Chris
“She has the biggest heart out of anyone else I’ve ever met. She’s always looking for ways to help people. She also has a big sense of humor and always finds a way to make me laugh. She’s extremely loving towards me and I love her just as much.”

I’m so glad Chris choose such a fun, loving, special woman. I can see how Anarid is definitely all of those things!

Why Chris choose this place to propose
“Our dream has always been to live in NYC together. Last year, I moved to the city for work and she also recently got a new job and moved to the city at the beginning of this year. We’re now living in our dream city together and enjoying each other’s company. I chose Central Park because it is symbolic to NYC and I want to capture our journey in our proposal.”

That moment Chris knew Anarid was the one:
“We love to travel. Last year (in 2020), we took a trip to Boston in September for her birthday and she was smiling the whole time. We had so much fun together while sightseeing and laughed a lot. That’s really when it clicked that I knew I had to propose soon because I wanted to spend my life with her. ”

About the Proposal
Chris was really smart and wanted to do the proposal early in the morning since he choose an iconic spot in Central Park. Chris thought a lot about how he would ask. He planned on bringing an anniversary present for Anarid and set up the scene beautifully. He told her to close her eyes as he prepared to give her a gift. When she opened her eyes she saw him on his knee! Despite the weather being a bit iffy with a chance of rain, everything went perfectly to plan! See some from that special day below:

Portraits + Champange
I loved that we had a chance to visit a few iconic NYC places in Central Park without the crowds. Chris even thought to bring champagne to toast their engagement, which was so fun! We had to take some photos with them 🙂
